PORON®
This is a family of polyurethane foams with a microcellular structure. Effective shock absorption must withstand the effects of compression, dissipate harmful impact energy without damage, and provide comfort to the user.
PORON® foams reliably meet these requirements in a wide range of applications. They also exhibit outstanding vibration damping properties. They are highly compressible, allowing them to easily conform to adjacent surfaces, while remaining resistant to continuous, repeated compression and relaxation. Even with very long use, they are not susceptible to permanent deformation.
Rogers® open-cell urethanes provide resilient cushioning, ideal for flexography.
With the right compressibility, they reduce/regulate pressure and absorb vibrations from printing plates, which not only affects the life and functionality of the plates, but also the quality of the print itself. They are available in a variety of hardness, thickness, and resilience options, making it easy to select the right one for your needs. PORON foams do not contain migrating plasticizers, do not cause corrosion, are clean and safe for the environment. Application range from -40°C to 90°C.
Many grades meet UL HBF and MVSS 302 flammability standards, and some also meet the very stringent UL 94 V-0 standard.
We offer PORON® foams in three basic groups.
The first is XRD foams that absorb impact energy (impact protection).
The second is a collection of footwear and orthopedic foams – the old “Legacy” collection and the new “Poron Comfort” collection.
The third is technical foams.
